I want to thank the Barbie movie, because not only it's going to be a masterpiece that will change my life, but it also made me realise that Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds are in fact two different actors
If this sweet old lady turns out to be Ruth Handler, I'm going to cry! For those who don't know, Ruth was the creator of Barbie, who was named after her daughter Barbara (the sunshine boy that is Ken is named after her son), so Barbie potentially meeting the person who is basically her mother would be really sweet! That said, Ruth passed in 2002 at 85, so either this is her ghost, a manifestation of her via Barbie's memories, or this takes place in a universe in which Ruth is somehow still alive. And considering this is already a film about a doll coming to the real world, I'd say anything is possible at this point!
